60 years Service

On Sunday we said goodbye to a guy who has been serving our church for 60 years. That’s pretty impressive, and to be honest unless our society changes massively I don’t think anyone will ever be involved for that long again. We’re all so mobile these days.

It was sad to say goodbye, but it was also good to have a chance to celebrate that kind of faithfulness. It was also good to hear this man speak about God’s faithfulness to him, including when his plane was shot down during ww2 and he was a prisoner of war. I certainly hope that I’m as confident about God’s faithfulness if I’m around in 50 yrs.
